Gawad Kalinga is a Philippine-based movement that aims to end poverty for 5 million families, by first restoring the dignity of the poor. Mr. Tony Meloto, the Founder of Gawad Kalinga, never stop building communities to end poverty together with Social Entrepreneurs and volunteers.

The book launching was held at FullyBooked, Bonifacio High Street, BGC, Taguig City last Nov. 29, 2014

It was a privilege to visit GK enchanted farm in Bulacan last June of this year. Together with my fellow Bloggers, we enjoy so much and learned a lot of this tour.

The author, Thomas Graham, gives some details about his book.

I'm so glad to know that there's a certain book that pertains about the experience in Gawad Kalinga and this is "The Genuis of the Poor - A Journey with Gawad Kalinga" by Thomas Graham, a confused Brit going through an early midlife crisis.

About the Book

Following a serendipitous encounter with Tony Meloto. Thomas quit his job, moved out of his 34th floor Makati condo and set off to discover GK communities all over the country.

The Genius of the poor is a heartfelt and often humorous account of a foreigner's life changing journey in the Philippines. Whether in prisons, conflict areas or dangerous slums. Thomas became inspired by countless heroes that share one common dream - to build a nation in which no Filipino is ever again left behind.
