2nd PHILIPPINE NATIONAL BARISTA CHAMPIONSHIP is about to kick in Resorts World Manila!

The 2nd Philippine National Barista Championship, our country's most prestigious barista competition is soon to happened this coming October 2014. Allegro Beverage Corporation (ABC), the official organizer of the said event is proudly announced that Resorts World Manila (RWM) as the prestigious Platinum Sponsor for the 2nd PNBC, taking place October 15 to 17, 2014. The official statement is made by Mr. Leo H. de Leon, President and General Manager of ABC.

 



PNBC encourages and recognizes professional achievement in the art and skill of espresso beverage preparation and service. During the competition, Baristas will prepare and serve twelve coffee drinks: four espressos, four cappuccinos and four original espresso-based signature beverages of their own creation, all within a 15-minute timeframe. Seven Judges, including four Sensory Judges, two Technical Judges and one Head Judge, will evaluate each

of the competing Baristas. The winner of the 2nd

PNBC will represent the Philippines in the

2015 World Barista Championship, April 9 to 12, 2015 at the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) Expo in Seattle, USA.

Kevin Israel Fortu, reigning Philippine National Barista Champion, will be our country's representative in the recently concluded 2014 World Barista Championship (WBC), the world’s preeminent coffee competition.

He said, “It was such a huge responsibility for me to portray the Philippines in Barista culture and to put up a good performance for the 2014 World Barista Championship. It was a long journey and preparation on my part, and I hope that I made our country proud by giving acreditable performance in the event,”. 

After the announcement, it's a privilege to witnessed how delicious coffee blends was made by the Champion and we tasted it too! Awesome!

The World Barista Championship (WBC) is the preeminent international coffee competition produced

annually by World Coffee Events (WCE). The competition focuses on promoting excellence in coffee, advancing the barista profession, and engaging a worldwide audience with an annual championship event
