November 2019 - PHILIPPINES - McDonald’s finally reveals the fourteen (14) Happy Meal toys that are making a comeback in its much awaited Surprise Happy Meal! Starting November 21, Filipinos can get their hands on some of the most well-loved Happy Meal toys from the past 4 decades, in celebration of Happy Meal’s 40th global anniversary!

Iconic throwback toys revealed!
The iconic Happy Meal red box was first introduced in the U.S. in 1979, and has expanded to over 38,000 restaurants and 100 countries. It first launched in the Philippines in 1997, allowing Filipino children to experience the same delight and excitement of unboxing their very own Happy Meal! 

This year marks Happy Meal’s 40th year of bringing happiness to many generations and with the Surprise Happy Meal, people get to relive those memories as they rediscover the following Happy Meal toys:

(1988)  McNugget buddies - Cowboy, Mail Carrier, and Fireman are T.V. commercial buddies with interchangeable accessories. Mix ‘n’ Match their outfits to create a completely new look!
(1989 & 1991) McDonald’s Hamburger and Dino Happy Meal Box Changeables were McDonald’s take on the popular transforming toys of the time. Get a chance to experience transforming your toys!
(1990) McDonaldland Toys Grimace had four arms in 1979 - each carrying a different McDonald’s shake. In 1990, he went down to two arms, but his loveable purple hue remained.
(1993) McDonald’s Hot Wheels Thunderbird was first introduced in 1991 into the Happy Meal. These cars were scale models of popular cars since 1968, making them a go-to collectible. Catch them while they’re hot!
(1995) McDonaldland Toys Hamburglar was introduced in the original Happy Meal in 1979 as a fun eraser, while our returning version is from the 90’s. Robble, robble said the masked icon!
(1996) Space Jam Bugs Bunny slam-dunked into the Happy Meal with the release of Space Jam, the film that included an all-star Looney Tunes lineup. Eh..What’s up, doc? Is an iconic line of Bugs Bunny!
(1997) Patti the Platypus was one of the “Teenie Beanie Babies”, an all-time best-selling Happy Meal toy. It is still one of the most sought-after by toy collectors. Now is the best time to get a hold of this Beanie Baby for yourself!
(1998) My Little Pony made pop-culture history with TV shows, clothing lines, and annual conventions. Many are obsessed with their rainbow colored manes, making it a hit Happy Meal property until today!
(1998) Tamagotchi the egg-shaped Tamagotchi keychain hatched into the Happy Meal at the height of the digital toys trend. It’s the iconic toy on-the-go for the 90’s kids!
(1999) Furby was the first electronic toy in the Happy Meal after being 1999's “it” toy. Dah-may-may!                                                         
(2013) Hello Kitty the pop-icon made her debut in Happy Meal in 2000, and has inspired generations with her positive message and kindness and friendship. She is definitely the sweetest and friendliest kitty we know!
