Ultimate Guide to SmartKids Asia Philippines 2017
SmartKids Asia Philippines (SKAP) 2017 is dubbed as the
largest educational kids’ fair in the continent for a good reason. Aside from
the over 100 exhibitors who have prepared their own exciting treats for
everyone, the event has more than 39 stage and classroom activities to be
spread within two days. SKAP, to be held on January 28 to 29, 2017, is a
whirlwind of activities and treats that will appeal to all ages.
The two-day “edutainment fair” that is SKAP might be a little
overwhelming what with all the activities and attractions. But fair-goers need
not worry. With this special guide complete with tips and event schedules,
attendees can maneuver their way into the fair and make the most of what SKAP
has to offer.
First Day of SKAP
The fun starts early here at SKAP. On January 28, 2017, SKAP
will open its gates to attendees by 10 AM, giving them the chance to be part of
the opening activities. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony to be followed
by the fabled dragon dance to celebrate Chinese New Year.
One of the highlights on the first day of SKAP is the
national finals of the Diwa Pasiklaban sa Paaralan League of Champions (Diwa
Pasiklaban) Quiz Challenge. About 20 students will engage in an intellectual
battle to become the national champion. Entrepreneur and TV host RJ Ledesma
will be the quizmaster for the championship round.
A little yonder is an area dedicated for the chess lovers.
Spectators can witness young woodpushers show their skills to the legendary
grandmaster Eugene Torre and the Philippines’ first woman grandmaster Janelle
Mae Frayna in the very first Diwa Pasiklaban League of Champions Chess Challenge.
After the scholastic competitions, colorful and fun
presentations by the sponsors will dominate the stage. Participants can shimmy
to the beat of Tempra’s and Nido Fortigrow’s jingle; join the raffle of
Appeton; scurry to make it to the “Bring Me” game of Disney’s Art Attack; show
off their creativity at the crafts session of Kidzoona; whip up delicious meals
at the cooking demonstration of Skippy; and take part in the trivia game of
Security Bank.
The mascots of Kidzoona, Dream Play, and Ritz Food Corp. will
also have their time to amuse and meet the attendees. There will also be a
kiddie presentation from Chooga Juice, the latest fruity drink for kids.
Skechers Philippines will add sparkle to the stage as it
mounts a fashion show for kids while the Halili-Cruz School of Ballet is set to
transform the platform into a mini dance studio for kids.
