MERALCO ADVISORY: ELECTRICITY RATES GO DOWN IN SEPTEMBER

Meralco Advisory Sept rate decrease

Meralco announced that overall electricity rates this September went down by Php 0.0451 per kilowatthour (kWh) for its residential customers. Households consuming 200 kWh will experience a reduction of around Php 9 in their electricity bill. Meralco Public Information Office Head Joe Zaldarriaga (in photo) explained that the overall rate decrease was due to the downward movement in the transmission charge, which more than offset a higher generation charge. Meralco also relaunched its mobile app called MOVE (Meralco Virtual Engine), which has a new ‘Orange Tag’ section. Users can now check how much it would cost to use specific appliances.
